PEORIA, Ill. -- Autopsy results Saturday revealed more information on stories we have been following in the last week.
Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll confirmed on Saturday Dewayne Bartels, a longtime central Illinois journalist, died Friday of a ruptured aneurysm in the brain.
Bartels' wife found him unresponsive yesterday sitting on the floor of his bedroom, with his laptop.
The Pekin native had been an editor, writer and reporter for various central Illinois newspapers, including the Peoria Times Observer, Woodford Times and most recently the East Peoria Times Courier.
He was 53 years old.
