Celebrating summer with the Make a Wish foundation

The Make A Wish Foundation wants you to join them this summer to help make wishes come true for local children. News 25's Ashley McNamee sat down with Make-A-Wish community relations manager Janet Bantz Glavin to talk about two of the organizations upcoming events.  

 Celebrity Sing for Wishes will celebrate its fifth year as local celebrities compete through online donations to sing alongside the band, Blurklezurps throughout the night. You can vote for your favorite local celebrity (including News 25's Anna Yee) by donating at www.singforwishes.comSing for Wishes is organized by area Make-A-Wish Illinois volunteers. 

Sing for Wishes:

When: Saturday, July 14, 2012 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Where: Gill Street Sports Bar & Restaurant at 3002 Gill Street Bloomington IL 61761.

Cost: $5 cover charge at the door

 

Then on, July 28, I SPY a Wish will take place in Peoria at Uftring Weston Chevrolet Cadillac. I Spy A Wish Team Adventure is a driving scavenger hunt to raise money for Make-A-Wish® Illinois in order to grant the wishes of four area children. Teams made up of family members, friends, or even businesses or groups of coworkers are welcomed.

When: Saturday, July 28, 2012 from 1- 5 p.m.

Where: Start and finish location at Uftring Weston Chevrolet Cadillac located at 3622 North University Street Peoria, IL 61604 along with various other sponsored stops in the Peoria Area. A fun "after-party" will wrap-up the event with various prizes awarded to team finishers and food provided by Avanti's Italian Restaurant.

Cost: $50 per team (2-6 members) per vehicle.
