CENTRAL ILLINOIS -- Central Illinois McDonald's Operators and Owners are loving this year's fundraising efforts.

Tuesday, the owners and operators presented the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Illinois with a check for $49,500.  The money was raised in September during the group's annual Ronald McDonald "For The Swing of It" Golf Outing.

Organizers say this year's event had a special meaning, as they changed the name in memory of one of their own.

"We have been doing this for about 10 years, but in honor of our recently passed operator, Dave Cope, we've renamed it the Dave Cope Annual Golf Tournament," said Robert Dobski, owner and operator.

Dave Cope died suddenly in April of this year.

He and his wife, Jayne, owned and operated the Canton and Farmington McDonald's locations for more than 20 years.
