PEKIN, Ill -- Monday afternoon marked the second of six dedication ceremonies along the Illinois River National Scenic Byway.
Along the Byway, there are six kiosks including one at Pekin's Riverfront Park.
The kiosks highlight not only the importance that the illinois River Scenic Byway serves, but also the significance it holds to each community.
"Our Byway Board of Directors worked with community representatives to help to determine what would appear on the community kiosk, a little bit of history, as well as pointing out a few different sites that are available to visitors," said Illinois River National Scenic Byway Director Anaise Berry.
The dedication concluded with a ribbon cutting ceremony by several community leaders.
The kiosks are made possible by a 160,000 dollar grant from the Federal Highway Administration National Scenic Byway program.
