Cherishing moments and Christmas lights

PEORIA, Ill -- A Peoria house will light up with Christmas for a good cause this Saturday.

The house on Monterey Court is hard to miss. It is decorated with over 8,000 Christmas lights...what you see here is just a sample.

It's all for the First Annual "House Lighting Party," hosted by the Keltner family for the Dax Locke Foundation.

The Keltner's are well known in their neighborhood for their elaborate Christmas lights, but this year it's all to benefit the Dax Locke "Cherish Every Moment Foundation."

"We cherish every moment we have with our family, and the people that get to see this,” said Mary Keltner, the lights display Co-Creator. “And we thought it would be a wonderful opportunity by collecting donations on Saturday night for the Dax Locke Foundation to extend that love to children that are going through the same thing he went through."

The event is Saturday, December 1, from 7-8 p.m.

It is open to the public and free of charge; however, donations will be accepted for the Dax Locke Foundation.

Parking will be on side streets. The Keltner’s ask for everyone to please be careful of others driving in the neighborhood, and to avoid parking on Hamilton and driveways.
