EAST PEORIA, Ill. -- Miracle kids across the area helped the Children's Hospital of Illinois raise money Saturday afternoon.
It was part of the 4th annual Sunny Day benefit.
Hundreds of people impacted by the hospital attended the fund-raiser.
"They can see that those kids are really there, and they can hear their stories," said event coordinator, Rachel Honegger. "This money is going to their cause and to support them. People will be able to put a face to what we are really doing today."
"They are there for anybody," said a parent of Children's Hospital, Brad Durham. "I never thought we would need it, and you don't think about that stuff until you do need it. We are now happier than heck that it is thirty minutes away and we can get to it."
Organizers hope the event will raise more than $60,000.
The money will go towards programs at Children's Hospital.
