Harris murder trial to be moved to Peoria

LINCOLN, Ill. -- A Logan County judge says the trial of Christopher Harris, accused of the September 2009 murders of five members of the Beason family, will be moved to Peoria.

According to the Pantagraph, Chris Harris’ defense lawyer Daniel Fultz says that the amount of news coverage of the case would not result in a fair trial in Logan County.

Additionally, Fultz referred to more than 100 articles that have been published by Central Illinois newspapers about the case.

The trial is set to begin April 29, 2013.

So far, no hearings have been scheduled for Christopher's brother, Jason Harris.
