EAST PEORIA,IL--A Tazewell County man says he feels violated after someone stole Christmas presents and his wallet from his truck.

East Peoria resident Tim Majors said he makes sure his home is very secure now.

"It breaks your heart when someone messes with your kids," he said.

Majors is talking about the person who stole $500. dollars worth of Christmas presents and his wallet from inside his truck last Thursday. Majors says after a busy day of shopping he went to bed and forgot to lock his vehicle parked in the drive of his East Peoria home.

"I would really like to get my stuff back but I want to find the person responsible for doing that," he said.

Majors bought some of the items from Game Stop in Pekin. He says East Peoria police have checked video taped survelliance footage of someone trying to return some of the stolen items.

East Peoria police declined an on camera interview but did confirm they are investigating the theft.

Majors has passed out flyers warning other residents in his Cracklewood Lane neighborhood. He says the incident left him angry and paranoid.

"Checking everything twice before I go to bed and doors are locked even if we come inside to grab something for a second I find myself locking the doors," he said.

In the meantime Majors went out and bought more gifts. Even though his safety was compromised Majors says he wants to make sure his children will enjoy Christmas.
