Citizen's tip leads to arrest of armed robbery suspect

PEORIA, Ill. -- Peoria police have arrested a suspect in connection to the Wednesday morning Marathon Gas Station robbery.

Authorities say that a citizen's tip led to the arrest of Ryan A. Lakin, 29.

Police responded to the Marathon Gas Station, 3712 N. University, at approximately 2:40 a.m. A suspect entered the business armed with a handgun and robbed an employee of cash. Still images from a security camera were released to the public Wednesday afternoon.

Lakin is being held at Peoria County Jail on a charge of armed robbery.
