PEORIA, Ill. -- The City of Peoria wants to clear up a misprint and any confusion that may have residents worried about their garbage bill.

The City of Peoria is now responsible for directly billing households for trash fees, instead of collecting them from Illinois American Water.

Because of the change, some residents could see a slight increase in their first bill.

But officials say in January, all garbage bills will be $13.

They also want to inform residents of two printing errors.

The bill's due date is December 31, not December 21, and the delinquent date is January 10, not January 2.

If you have questions, call the city at 494-2273.
