PEORIA, Ill. -- The City of Peoria is looking for proposals on how to use the Powell Press Building.
The Powell Press Building, located at 110 NE Water Street, is the city's oldest commercial building.
It is located in the heart of the Riverfront Entertainment District that includes the newly opened Peoria Riverfront Museum and Caterpillar Visitors Center.
The city is looking for a tenant that will "increase the vitality and vibrancy of downtown Peoria" such as a small retail operation.
The building is currently occupied by the Riverfront Visitors Center. In a release, the City stated it will give strong preference to proposals that co-locate or incorporate operations of the Visitors Center.
A full Request for Proposal is available on the City's website www.ci.peoria.il.us or by contacting Christopher Setti, Assistant City Manager, at (309) 494-8618 or csetti@ci.peoria.il.us.
