City of Peoria prepares for flooding

April 19, 2013 Updated Apr 19, 2013 at 10:58 AM CDT

Peoria's city manager is holding a news conference over the noon hour Friday to address the actions the city is taking to deal with flooding from the Illinois River.

Also due to rising flood waters, The Heartland Partnership offices at 100 SW Water Street Peoria will be closing Friday and will likely remain closed through April 26th.

A spokeswoman from the office says if you have a meeting scheduled at the office with The Heartland Partnership, EDC, CEO COUNCIL, the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce or SCORE please contact the staff person responsible now regarding a new location or rescheduled date.

A news release states staff will not have access to their work email accounts nor office phones.

This story will be updated.
