PEORIA, Ill. -- Veterans will receive free bus rides on Monday, November 12.
CityLink says it is a tradition to offer free rides to Veterans on the date Veterans Day is observed. However, the company says it will continue to offer benefits for vets with valid identification from the VA Health Care System, even after Veterans Day.
“We are pleased to offer half-fares to local veterans, giving them convenient access to transportation and resources such as those offered at the Bob Michel VA Outpatient Clinic,” said Tom Lucek, CityLink General Manager. “CityLink appreciates the service veterans have given to our country.”
For information about the VA Health care System identification, interested veterans should contact the eligibility office at the Bob Michel VA Outpatient Clinic at (309) 589-6800.
The Greater Peoria Mass Transit District Board of Trustees approved the half-fares for veterans at their regular October meeting.
