PEORIA, Ill. -- When the Illinois Public Transit Association meets in Peoria next week, the group will be shuttled around town in All-America City style.

On Friday, CityLink unveiled its new All-America City bus.

The bus wrap was designed by the Young Professionals, the same group that spearheaded the All-America City campaign, but the idea was not entirely theirs.

"Well, in 1989 Peoria became an All-America City and at that time they also had a bus. It was a red, white, and blue design and I saw a picture of it. So when I heard that we won this award this year, I said we really need to have an All-America City bus,” said CityLink General Manager Jim Lucek.

The bus wrap cost CityLink about $9,000.

The bus will be in regular service for the next year.
