PEORIA, Ill. -- Traffic in and around the Peoria Civic Center will be a little congested this weekend beginning Friday night.
The Peoria Rivermen will play a game that will be followed by a concert by Christian recording artist Carmen.
After that, crews will begin breaking down the ice hockey rink for Saturday's big show by country western singer Zack Brown, which is nearly sold out.
Several hundred people are expected to attend the OSF Saint Francis Medical Center's Angel Ball fundraiser.
Civic Center General Manager Jim Wetherington says this time of year starts off a busy schedule for the next three months.
"We'll have about in the neighborhood of 11 to 12,000 people in the facility at one time tomorrow night. CityLink is helping, they're doing some park and rides, you can check and their website for locations. It's just a lot of fun when the facility is this full," said Peoria Civic Center General Manager Jim Wetherington.
A local women's roller derby league will also host a game Saturday night.
Proceeds from that will go toward charity.
