Quick Vote:
Do you believe it is worth it to get a college degree in the current economy?
CHICAGO -- A higher education is getting lower on the totem pole.
Ratings agency Moody says the outlook for the higher education sector has turned sour.
The agency had previously given higher education a "stable" outlook for market-leading research universities and negative for the rest of higher education, but it now says it is revising its outlook to "negative" for the entire sector.
According to Moody, even prestigious, top-tier research universities are under threat from declining enrollment, government spending cuts, and a growing public doubt about the value of a college degree.
