DUNLAP, Ill. -- After nine months of negotiations, a contract has been tentatively reached between Dunlap teachers and district officials.
The Dunlap Education Association has been working without a deal since the old deal expired at the end of June.
The contract was agreed to after a session with a mediator on January 13. It will be voted on by the teachers this Sunday and a then by the school board at a special meeting still to be scheduled.
This agreement comes as the district is facing a budget deficit of $750,000 this school year and a projected deficit of $2.1 million next year.
The terms of the tentative contract have not been released.
