Monday was a hot day at the ballpark, but that didn't stop fans from taking in an early game at O'Brien Field.
The Chiefs took on Ft. Wayne for a mid-day game starting at 11.
To beat the heat they even brought out a mister, which was getting lots of attention.
Justin Hopper with the Peoria Chiefs said it was a great way to keep the kids cool, "We got a bunch of day cares in the stadium today, and when you get (this) many kids in the stands you want to keep them as cool as possible, so I figured this would be a good idea to keep them cool."
Monday was also 'Splash Day' at the ballpark where fans are encouraged to wear something they can get wet and bring their own squirt guns.
