A Christmas Eve accident left a Springfield man dead in McLean County.

The McLean County Coroner says a preliminary autopsy showed Marcus Lee did not die of a traumatic injury.

However, it is likely the way he was positioned after his vehicle crashed prevented Lee from breathing.

The accident happen just after 3 p.m. Friday on I-55, when Lee apparently lost control of his vehicle and was struck on the driver's side door by a semi-truck.

The hazardous road conditions may have been a factor.

Illinois State police and the Coroner's office continue the investigation.
