CENTRAL ILLINOIS -- The cost of hosting Thanksgiving dinner could leave a bad taste in your mouth.
The average cost to host the big day will run about $246 this year, according to a Coupon Cabin survey of more than 2,000 adults.
That cost has prompted 12 percent of Americans to pass on hosting Thanksgiving in the past.
Nearly 15 percent have felt pressured into hosting the dinner because relatives or friends don't want to foot the bill.
The Coupon Cabin folks suggest skipping name brands and buying generic to save a few bucks and to keep your decorations simple and to a minimum.
The 2012 survey was conducted online within the United States by Harris Interactive on behalf of Coupon Cabin from October 18 - 22, 2012 among 2,082 adults ages 18 and older.
