PEORIA, Ill -- The children at Crittenton Centers have a brand new playhouse to explore.

Sunday afternoon the River Valley Drifters Auto Club handed over the keys to the outdoor play space and reading loft.

The group has raised more than $30,000 for area charities including St. Jude, the Children's Hospital and now Crittenton Centers.

Group member Gary Daniel said they chose Crittenton to get more hands-on, and he encouraged everyone else to become involved, if you can.

"Just the opportunity to hands on works for them, and I would advise anyone out there take the time, come in and rock some babies and these kids need such a great amount of attention," Daniel said.

The playhouse is dedicated to Danny Parlier, who was hit and killed by a car while helping a woman who was involved in an accident in East Peoria.
