EAST PEORIA, Ill. -- Brad and Amy Herzog made a stop in Central Illinois Tuesday on their 40-day cross country road trip.
The Herzogs are actually named the RV Industry Association's "National Explore America Family."
Brad says an RV trip can cost up to 50% less than a traditional vacation, since you're eliminating costs of hotels and restaurants.
He says motor homes can run anywhere from about $5,000 to $500,000 and come in all shapes and sizes.
"I'm not the campiest, handiest guy," said Brad Herzog. "I'm kind of a homebody. I'm a writer when I'm at home in California. I don't get out much, but that's why this is perfect for me. It's the adventure of the open road, but it's the comforts of home."
This is the 13th consecutive summer the Herzogs are making their US RV trek.
Brad is also an author and RV blogger for www.GoRVing.com.
