Students at a rival school to Tremont show their support for the loss of two high school students in a tragic crash this past weekend.

Eighteen year old Michael Honan and 17-year-old CeLine Estes were killed Saturday when Honan's pickup truck hit a bus near Carlock.

Tuesday, students at Deer Creek Mackinaw High School are wearing maroon colors to show support to Tremont High School students mourning the loss of their classmates.

They say the communities are close despite the rivals in school sports.

"The school is coming together in an amazing way. Just today we took a school picture with everyone who was wearing maroon. And walking into the gym and seeing everyone wearing Tremont's colors was breath taking. I had to stop for a second because it was emotional for me," said senior Zach Sanzotta.

Principal Bill Lamb says it is important to help students find a positive way to deal with tragedies.

Two other people in Honan's pick-up truck are still in the hospital. The condition of Celine Estes' older sister Briana is critical and 21-year old Brittany Fair is in fair condition.

Visitation for Mike Honan is Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pekin. His funeral is Thursday at 11 a.m.
