EAST PEORIA, Ill. -- There was damage to several windows and a laboratory classroom at Illinois Central College over the weekend, and authorities know exactly who the vandal is.

Early Saturday morning, students at a cost-estimating class heard breaking glass. A window to a lab had been broken in and the vandal, a deer, was still there.

Stephen Valentine is taking that class and had his cell-phone camera handy.

"As soon as I saw it, I thought 'I need to get a picture of this'. Then it ran over to that door again started banging up against the glass. I actually walked up to the door and it started to move back. I stepped outside to see where it was going. It eventually ran off into another courtyard area, broke another window and got into the cafeteria. It didn't go anywhere…just stepped inside and looked around,” Valentine said.

School maintenance workers were able to scare the deer off school property. ICC said there were no injuries except to the deer, which was last seen running toward Centennial Drive.
