Department of Education funding awarded to Illinois

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- More than $22 million in funding has been awarded to help Illinois' lowest-achieving schools.

The U-S Department of Education made the announcement Tuesday.

Illinois will be able to give grants to improve student achievement at low-performing schools.

No word yet on which schools will get these grants.
