PEORIA, Ill. -- Downtown Peoria has been invaded by dinosaurs.

One of the world's largest life-sized dinosaur simulations, called Discover the Dinosaurs, is at the Peoria Civic Center this weekend.

The hands on exhibit features about 60 animatronic and museum quality replicas that move and make noise.

There's also educational videos and sand boxes where people can dig for dinosaur bones.

But the most popular exhibit is the Tyrannosaurus Rex.

"When you ask a kid when they come in what their favorite dinosaur is almost every kid is going to say T. rex. So we have an enormous T. rex scene in there. I actually get in there too and I let them touch a couple of the bones of the dinosaurs. That's usually where all the people are at the T. rex and the Iguanodon scene," Jake Karan said.

Discover the Dinosaurs continues at the Civic Center through Sunday.
