PEORIA, Ill.-- Friends, family and alumni gathered to celebrate years of catholic education in Peoria.

The mass at St. Mary's Cathedral commemorated 150 years of catholic education.

About 200 alumni attended the anniversary service.

Bishop Daniel Jenky says having the alumni come out to celebrate shows that they loved their schools and their traditions.

The Bishop says he is very proud of the achievement.

Bishop Jenky said, "It means the same good work has been going on for all that many years. Of teaching, of announcing Christ of building community, of building service and I couldn't be prouder."

Bishop Jenky says this means a lot for the alumnus loyalty to Catholicism and what they learned in High School.
