CANTON, Ill. -- A contract dispute between faculty and the administration at Spoon River College is now resolved.
The Spoon River College Board of Trustees approved a two year contract Wednesday night.
Last month, the faculty association filed an intent to strike after its members had been working without a contract since August.
Insurance benefits and salary were just a few issues both parties disagreed on before they reached an agreement.
The new contract features an average 2 percent salary increase for the first year, and another 2 percent salary increase during the second year.
Faculty insurance plans remained the same, and faculty contributions to insurance are frozen until 2014.
Both sides said they are pleased with the new deal.
