PEORIA, Ill -- District 150 administrators invited parents and families inside Trewyn School Tuesday night for a special workshop.
Dr. Grenita Lathan lead the district's sixth Parent University.
The workshop brings parents and students together for dinner and to learn about positive things happening within District 150.
The workshop also focused on topics like eating healthy, being active and preparing students for college.
"In many instances it's the first time college-bound student and so they really have no idea what to expect. They actually work with the parent or guardian for all four years of high school, even taking them on college visits, but they meet monthly here at Parent University," said district spokesman Chris Coplan.
District 150 holds Parent University at a different school each month.
It is free for parents and students.
