PEORIA, Ill -- This is the first year District 150 High School students can register for classes online.

A registration tutorial was offered during Monday night's school board meeting.

Those who helped bring Skyward Student Access to the district say it puts education back in the students' hands.

Students without internet access at home can use a computer lab or get assistance from a guidance counselor.

"The only thing that I've had questions on is just some questions on how to do the process," said Richwoods High School Guidance Counselor Ron Dwyer. "It hasn't been about, 'I don't have access.' I haven't received those; it's more about how to do the process, which we're able to answer easily over the phone or we tell them to come in the next day and we'll work through it with them at school."

Skyward Student Access registration is available until midnight on Sunday, February 3.

School officials say students can even access Skyward through their smart phones to register.
