PEORIA, Ill. -- A parent and supporter of District 150 says enough is enough.

What started as I-SAT testing irregularities at Charter Oak led to the formation of the group Change 150.

The group has stated they want change in the leadership of the district; including Superintendent Dr. Grenita Lathan.

Pastor Harvery Burnett says he is tired of Change 150 "attacking" and "bullying" the school board and Lathan.

Burnett said what started as an issue of ISAT testing at Charter Oak has turned into an issue of power and control; and has nothing to do with the children.

He says there is more than enough proof that the district has made progress over the last four years.

According to Burnett, the Change 150 group doesn't care about the entire district, only certain schools.

"Shame on Jim Powell and Change 150 for creating such an abusive atmosphere that citizens want to stop the business of education at any cost, simply to serve the needs and the requirements of the white power elite," Burnett said.

Board members Linda Butler agrees that the district has made significant progress over the years.

"When you look and see what District 150 has done over the last 4 years in terms of student advancement, education, the programs that have come...Overall I think he makes a good point, what can you say against that," said board member Linda Butler.

Change 150 leaders said the group will continue to advocate for change in district leadership and fight for the best public education possible.
