PEORIA, Ill -- Work is coming along for the 2012 St. Jude Dream Home in the Stonehenge subdivision of Peoria.
The 2,418 square foot home will include four bedrooms, two and a half baths, a finished basement and a three car garage. It is valued at approximately $330,000.
Local businesses, such as Carver Lumber, are donating their time, supplies, and even labor to build the dream home.
While many see St. Jude as a Peoria Icon, Vice President of Carver Lumber Mark Booth says his connection is much deeper.
"My son had cancer back in 1994. He was 16 years old at the time, he is now 34 years old and doing very well," Booth says.
The St. Jude Dream Home Raffle is one of the biggest annual fundraisers for the Children's Hospital.
Raffle Tickets are $100 a piece and go on sale February 1. The winner of the home will be announced live on WEEK in April.
