Driver crashes into gas station, drives off

PEORIA, Ill. -- Peoria police have arrested two people after a vehicle crashed into the Mac Donald Shell gas station on Macarthur Highway.

Authorities say the incident happened at about 8:45 a.m. Friday. Officers say an employee was sitting in her office when a person in a parked vehicle put their car in drive, sending the car crashing into the side of the building.

Witnesses say the motorist then drove off. No injuries were reported.

A woman was arrested for leaving the scene of a crash and driving on a revoked license. A male passenger was arrested for marijuana possession.

Damage to the building is estimated at $5,000
