PEORIA, Ill. -- A Peoria County coroner's jury has ruled the April death of a Dunlap High School student as accidental.

Authorities say a friend found 16 year-old Joshua Olt unresponsive in his bedroom on Sunday April 29th. Toxicology results showed he died of a heroin overdose. Traces of cocaine were also found in Olt's urine.

During the coroner's inquest, a detective testified Olt's death was an accident. He added Olt had gone to a hotel the day before with a friend to buy drugs but could not say with certainty if those were the same drugs that killed him.

"I can identify who he bought the drugs from on Saturday but I can't, without a doubt, identify that the drugs that killed him were the same drugs as he bought on Saturday," said detective Dave Hoyle.

There is no word yet on what these new findings mean for the case against 45 year-old Heath McGovern. In June, a Peoria County grand jury indicted McGovern on charges of of possession of narcotics with intent to deliver. McGovern has been named as a "person of interest" in Olt's death.
