PEORIA, Ill. -- For the first time Northwoods Mall opened its stores at 8pm to customers looking to get an early start on their holiday lists.

Hundreds of people descended upon Northwoods Mall on Thanksgiving night.

Some waiting in lines wrapping around the building.

All for one thing.

"These fantastic deals, honestly," said shopper Victor Medina.

Not even a turkey induced coma could slow down shoppers eager to take advantage of the savings.

"The $25 dollar hoodies and leggings," said Betsy Fennell.

"Some Jordans and some Timberlands," said Medina.

"A coat for my son," said Carmen Howard.

Northwoods Mall opened at 8pm instead of midnight this Thanksgiving.

That begs the question: Is that too early for Thanksgiving night?

"I think it's OK to come out at night," said Betsy Fennell. "All our family stuff was over."

"It's OK, but sometimes it cuts into family time too," said Carmen Howard.

For some shoppers it seems the deals were just too good to pass up.

The mall will be open into the morning Friday blurring the line between Thanksgiving and Black Friday.
