PEORIA, Ill. -- Despite efforts by Peoria Police to keep things calm at Taft Homes Wednesday, things got somewhat out of hand after officers left early Thursday morning.
Police reported that they returned to Taft Homes at 2:40 this morning when about 200 people were in the streets. Police had to use pepper balls to get them to disperse.
About 30 minutes later, officers responded to a false call of shots fired, and found 10 to 15 people shoving each other. Police then fired another round of pepper balls to get them to disperse.
No arrests were made in either incident.
