PEORIA, Ill. -- A motorcycle accident that happened two weeks ago claimed the life of an East Peoria man.
Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll said 48-year-old Jonathan Hicks of Bellaire Court in East Peoria, died Saturday evening at OSF St. Francis Medical Center where he had been a patient.
Authorities said Hicks was riding a motorcycle November 17 traveling Eastbound on Interstate 74 in East Peoria when he rear-ended a vehicle.
Ingersoll said Hicks was thrown from the motorcycle and sustained multiple injuries which he died from Saturday evening just after 5:30 p.m.
Authorities are awaiting toxicology tests.
That accident and another one tied up traffic on the Murray Baker Bridge for some time.
