No matter how you like your eggs, there were plenty to go around on Saturday.

While some stuck to the more traditional Easter egg hunt... Others dove a little deeper.

Danette Fields of Peoria said, "My son's a water baby, he loves to dive and swim and we've done this several times and he really enjoys it."

The Peoria Riverplex was filled with little egg hunters who preferred the underwater search to dry land, like 8 year old Cassidy Earleywine.

Earleywine said, "It's more fun than like running and getting all sweaty because you get to get in the water."

While some kids were just happy to be taking a dip... Others were running out of room for their treasure.

But for those who wanted to enjoy the outdoors, Wildlife Prairie State Park hosted an egg hunt, guest starring the Easter bunny himself.

While some participants searched for more than 12,000 candy and prize filled eggs...others decided to focus on a different adventure.

Ashley Smucker of Bloomington said, “There's so much to do outside of the hunt because that takes like a minute and a half. So it’s quick. But there’s the animals, there’s face painting."

Ashley Smucker's daughter Nora was proud of the 6 eggs she collected.

But others were not about to stop at such a reasonable number.

And no matter where the Easter egg hunts took place, kids from across Central Illinois were determined to take a crack at the challenge.
