EcoThermics is expanding.

The Peoria-based research and development corporation is looking to open a new laboratory, not in central Illinois but in Lenexa, Kansas.

EcoThermics says the purpose for opening the new facility is to test products, namely compressor systems, on a third party basis.

According to Chairman and CEO Merle Rocke, EcoThermics has taken strides that larger corporations spend longer--and more money--trying to do.

"We have a passionate team that has worked tirelessly because we believe in the importance and potential of our technology," said Rocke.

Rocke attributed EcoThermic's ongoing success to local organizations like Heartland Partnership, Caterpillar, Peoria NEXT, and Bradley University, among others.

Stanley J. Demster, PE, has been named director of lab operations in Lenexa.
