SAYBROOK, Ill. -- A house explosion in McLean County is to blame for killing a 60-year-old woman.

County Coroner Beth Kimmerling says multiple agencies responded to a home at 115 South Monroe shortly before 1 p.m. Saturday.

Thee people were taken from the scene of the explosion to OSF St. Joseph Medical Center.

Charlene Durham, 60, was later pronounced dead by the hospital's ER staff. An autopsy is scheduled for a later date.

Saybrook Deputy Fire Chief Chad Benjamin says Durham was a well-respected member of the community.

He says her granddaughter, Korri Gilbert, is a recent high school graduate in her late teens.

The other two victims did not sustain life threatening injuries.

Division 41 fire investigators with the Mutual Aid Box Alarm System are investigating the cause and origin of the explosion.
