Employee at China Express robbed at gunpoint

PEORIA, Ill -- Peoria police are investigating the armed robbery of China Express, 1905 N. Knoxville, on Tuesday.

Authorities spoke to the victim, who said that a black man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt came into the business a little after 6:00 p.m. brandishing an automatic weapon. The victim said that a second suspect stood waiting by the door.

The victim said that the victim demanded money, so she opened the cash register for him. She said that the suspect took around $100.

A witness said that the suspect approached from behind the business and was not seen driving a vehicle.

Security footage showed that in addition to the sweatshirt, the man was also wearing a tan stocking cap. The suspect also had facial hair and was wearing glasses.
