PEORIA, Ill. -- The employees of Lincoln Food Mart, 1901 W. Lincoln Ave., were able to stop an armed robbery on Sunday night.

Officers responded to the scene at approximately 6:00 pm. When police went into the business, one of the employees was holding Jamesa Williams, 26, on the floor.

Employees told officers that Williams entered the business armed with a shotgun and went behind the counter.

Williams made an unspecified demand to the employees of the business. One of the other employees was able to grab the shotgun and get it away from her. She was then held to the floor until police arrived.

Officers arrested Williams at the scene.
