MCLEAN COUNTY, Ill. -- Thursday, the state has approved an expansion of the Bloomington-Normal/McLean County Enterprise Zone into downtown Bloomington.
The new addition covers approximately 185 acres of property centered around 101 North Main in Bloomington, covering about 56 blocks.
The government is now able to provide businesses with incentives to spur redevelopment. Those include possible sales tax exemptions on building materials and income tax credit for investment.
