Eureka High wins $100K in "Celebrate My Drive" Contest

EUREKA, Ill. -- Eureka High School is celebrating after receiving a $100,000 grant from State Farm Insurance. The money, a prize, in the Insurance giant's "Celebrate My Drive" contest.

The challenge was to have the most people commit to driving safely.

In an October interview, Principal Richard Wherley told News 25/HOI 19 the money would be used to replace school marquees throughout the district.

Eureka High is one of four Illinois schools to make the top 50 out of more than 3,500 schools.

According to the contest website, more than 6 million commitments were made during the contest period.

The grand prize winners (from Louisiana and Tennessee) will receive $100,000 each and a concert with Grammy-Award-winning singer Kelly Clarkson.
