CENTRAL ILLINOIS -- Typhoon fundraising efforts by the American Red Cross are exceeding expectations.
Its raised 11 million dollars nationwide in just the past week, beating its goal of 6 million.
The Central Illinois Filipino-American Society will add to that amount Saturday night at its dance fundraiser.
Organizers expect more than 200 people to attend.
"We have to do it as soon as possible because a lot of people are really needing help there. We can relate to how they feel. So we can all talk about our experiences and it's also to provide comfort for those," said Fundraiser organizer, Alfredo Aguilar.
The event is at Pekin's Comfort Plus Hospice until 10pm Saturday.
