PEORIA Ill -- Parade goers had a chance to make a different kind of memory with this year's parade festivities.
The Catholic Diocese of Peoria put on it's first live nativity scene for guests to visit before or after the parade.
The scene included the Virgin Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus.
Children also had a chance to pet some animals which included a donkey, sheep, and some goats.
"The Santa Clause Parade is really all about memories. You make so many memories whether your in it or your watching it. We thought we would just offer a faith filled memory as well. So it's all come together really well we've had a lot of cooperation," said organizer, Tom Dermody.
That cooperation included a handful of volunteers playing the characters at the scene along with Barnyard Discoveries, who provided the animals.
