PEORIA, Ill. -- A fake social media account claiming to be run by Peoria Mayor Jim Ardis led to the raid of a home Tuesday night.

Four Peoria police officers seized phones and computers from the home at 1220 North University Street.

Police were looking for the person behind the fake Twitter account, which has since been removed.

A state statute indicates it is illegal to impersonate public officials on social media.

Five people were questioned after the raid. No one was arrested in connection to the Twitter account, but one man was charged with marijuana possession.

An investigation is on going.
