FARMINGTON, Ill -- The Farmington Area Public Library District announced Thursday that it recently learned it is entitled to receive a FY2013 Illinois Public Library Construction Act Grant.
The library qualifies for an award of $1.5 to $1.6 million towards a new building.
According to the Library District, they must secure a local cost share of $975,000 before June of 2013. The Library District is planning to place a bond question for $700,000 on the November 6 ballot.
The Library District says the award is guaranteed if the local cost share is secured.
The proposed 9000 square foot building will be located on Lightfoot Road in Farmington across from Farmington Schools.
