The two-car wreck happened just before 8 p.m. in the westbound lanes of the bridge.
The accident caused both vehicles flipped over.
The Tazewell County Coroner has not released the name of the man killed because he is still trying to contact next of kin.
The two others who were involved in the accident were transported to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center with what officials called non life-threatening injuries.
The accident is still under investigation and the coroner has ordered toxicology reports.
