CHICAGO -- Illinois' unemployment rate remains flat, according to numbers released by the Illinois Department of Employment Security on Thursday.
Illinois employers added 6,400 jobs in February and the unemployment rate remained at 8.7 percent.
However, that mark is down from 2013's rate of 9.2 percent.
Job gains in professional and business services offset declines in trade, transportation and utilities. According to the IDES, most of the 6,100 jobs lost in that sector was at Chicagoland food stores.
